Portfolio examples

Scenario based example

I developed this course for teachers at a hypothetical ESL Language School. The course objective is to improve the outcome of some common difficult situations that occur when teachers meet with students for “Feedback Friday.” To meet this objective, I created a scenario based course that lets the teachers choose how to respond to student issues and see how that response plays out.

Articulate E-Learning Challenges

I am an active participant in Articulate’s weekly e-learning challenges. The challenges focus on a specific aspect of course design using Articulate Storyline 360. It can be visual, functional or both. It is a great way to learn by doing and to learn from and get inspired by the other participants’ work.

I have included two of my contributions below. Click here to see more of my e-learning challenge contributions.

Video quiz: Scanning a document

The challenge was to share an example that shows how videos can be used in quizzes or scenarios. I used a screen capture video of how to scan a document to create a quiz.

How to scan a QR code

The challenge was to simulate a real world activity using drag and drop interactions. I had just volunteered helping seniors learn how to scan QR codes for menus, store discounts, and other information. I created this interactive micro lesson to help them understand the steps in a safe environment.
